you don't have to spend a lot of money to look good it's how you wear it
why i do what I do.....
I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

TIP...wear a bowler hat with black and break it up with an unbuttoned white shirt to keep a sense of casual styling and stop the outfit looking too formal
TIP...a graphic black and white print dress is great with a biker jacket and modernises a mid length add a chunky heeled boots to balance it out and stop it looking frumpy and dont lace up to top but tie laces around the ankle of boot
TIP...invest in a pleated silk skirt as it will also carry you through to next spring and style it with tops tucked in to show off the high waist and give shape to the outfit add a pair of lace up hiking boots to toughen up the look
TIP...invest in a pair of circular sunglasses seen on the fash pack throughout fashion week and also at the ss11 jil sander show great to add a slight eccentricity to your look
TIP...colour block your neutrals with black but keep legs bare as too much black can ruin the look so add a thick shot and boots instead as the layers will keep you warm
TIP...add a pair of these to any outfit for the beginning touches to the 70's thats going to be everywhere next season coming in store november in great colours like orange and turquoise
TIP...thigh boots are the aw10 investment piece and instantly update and old pair of leggings wear with an oversized blazer and make sure the shirt is buttoned to the top
TIP...this is my favourite cape of the season and have put it with a camel jumper to stick to those autumnal tones and a leather skater skirt that also has a nod towards next ss11
TIP...although I have worn this outfit in new york I added a felt hat and a studded cross shoulder bag for a more hippy look and a non-platform wedge is a more elegant shoe shape
TIP...be ahead of the game and invest in some high waisted wide leg trousers and style up with simple pieces like a loose jumper or t-shirt and wear with wedges to add strength to the look
TIP...I have layered a big oversized jumper on top of a sheer dress and toughened it up with leather trousers underneath adding a satchel bag that is the must have shape for autumn
TIP...going 70's (inspired my a lot of next seasons show) but kept the a-line skirt chic in navy and dressed down with a simple tee and teamed with gold for that glamourous touch. good if you are tall though as make sure the skirt sits at knee level wear with heels for lengthening
TIP...I have added a loose silk blouse with high waisted suede shorts as the mixing of fabrics will be a strong theme this autumn and add a dramatic shoe and oversized bag and find a nice bra this season that works underneath sheer fabrics!
TIP...I added the ribbon to break up the cream and socks to keep look look more wintery even though the weather is amazing and leather shorts keep your dignity but toughens up a feminine shirt
