why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

Exclusive: Diesel Jogg Jeans

THE JOGG JEAN...Diesel have given me the onlin eexclusive for a brand new invention for casual wear combining denim and sweats. I was sent the 3 styles to try out and offer you ideas of how to wear them before they are launched firstly in selfridges from the 1st July and then nationwide in Diesel stores from August. They start at £150. The jeans are made using a circular weaving technique that has been used in their denim before bt helped invent this new type of trouser. Basically they have the effect of looking like jeans with the comfort of tracksuit bottoms and have been converted they are truly comfy and from afar you would think they were jeans! Definitely worth having a look for yourself and see below for the different ways to wear them.....

TIP...this is a great wash and the texture is perfect to match with the tribal trend that will be big for autumn layer the trousers with statement boots and a blanket style printed coat or cardigan the hems of the trousers can be bunched at the boot to give the look of slouchy socks

TIP...the dark wash of these trousers are great as they can work well with a strong colour like the blouse. I rolled up the hem to add to the effect of the trousers being denim and the waistcoat is a good autumn layer with a 70's twist the snakeskin boots are a must have for winter

TIP...I love the faded grunge wash of the trousers and have given them a 90's look with a loose knit jumper and printed creepers but keep the trouser size tighter to add sexiness and a hat finishes the look

Checks.....

TIP...a scarf is a key accessory for the season ahead and a great way to mix your fabrics (update your own oversized scarf and attach a strip of faux fur to the middle) I have added silk wide leg trousers for a more glamourous daytime look
grey marl jumper by gap http://www.gap.com
silk wide leg trousers by roksander illinic http://www.brownsfashion.com

TIP...sheepskin is a key wardrobe update add it to tartan and it instantly updates the look keep shapes clean and simple and let the print come to life
coat by christian blanken http://www.christianblanken.co.uk
shoes by office http://www.office.co.uk

DETAILS...the stack heel is my favourite shoe shape for autumn this shoe has a great height and the detail gives this shoe a edgy 60's feel wear with skinny jeans for a modern look

TIP...I have contrasted the 50's with the 90's with this great a-line skirt and pick a loose jumper but keep the skirt on the hips for a more laid back feel and add coloured shoe laces to your boot for an extra detail
