why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

Candy Stripes.....

This week candy stripes are ruling my world!  Want to win these amazing topshop jeans in the final look? Leave me a comment on the blog or tweet me @nataliehartley telling me what your favourite outfit is and how you would wear the jeans yourself and I will pick my favourite answer and send you the jeans, then wear them your way email me a picture of yourself wearing the jeans and will post on the blog and tweet the picture!  Easy and fun, good luck!

TIP...this skirt shape is a very flattering length but if its slightly too short for you then balance it with a loose shirt tucked in at the front to create shape the neutral grey of this looks great against the strong colours and wear with some fun sunglasses to finish the outfit

skirt by motel rocks http://www.motelrocks.com
sunglasses by topshop http://www.topshop.com

TIP...I have layered this silk striped blouse over a simple slip dress and the white blazer is a good contrast against the candy colours and peach making this look slightly less cute

TIP...these are my favourite printed jeans the stripes are great for making your legs long and lean and add a simple pastel coloured t-shirt to soften the outfit but the 50's style sunglasses make this outfit more interesting and glam

Pyjamas.....

Another week another prize!  This week you can win the whole of the second look!  As before tweet me @nataliehartley or leave a comment as to which your favourite of the 3 looks from this weeks blog are and why or how you would wear it and will pick my favourite comment.  Then send me a picture of how you wear it and will post it on the blog/ tweet it.  Good Luck! x

TIP...florals are a great way to wear head to toe print and I have opted for a tighter fitting outfit for the tucking the shirt in for shape and have worn with a stiletto look out for steel toe caps (big for winter too!)

TIP...I love this outfit the loose sleeveless shirt also looks great tucked in but the loose pyjama style trousers look best with heels to avoid a literal 'got out of bed' look!

TIP...a traditional pyjama shaped top looks great unbuttoned to act like a jacket worn over a white tee and loose trousers is a very cool laid back summer outfit the pastel colours look great and not too girly when worn with brogues

I love this shirt dress from LaLa Berlin I have shown you 3 ways to wear this but it could also be used as a great cover up or alternative kaftan for the beach!
