why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

Natalie Hartley Runs....The Penultimate Weekend

So fashion month is over and there is only 2 weeks until my big running moment.....argh! As quickly as I built my fitness up before the fashion week chaos as quickly as it disintegrated over the month (smoking and drinking over his month does that to you) so my only way to snap back into shape and quickly was to join David Warden and his 'We Run This City' running club on Saturday mornings which is part of the Equinox gym schedule. Again this is not something I normally do (waking up early for a run that is) but time is running out and need the kick start. We head (or run) over to Holland Park and what seemed like was going to be a gentle run turned into hill running .... eight times up that bloody hill to be exact. The only thing that made me keep going is that the girl in the photos below had already done a 20k run before she came to this class! Jog on......

As you all know am running for a brain aneurysm charity called Claire's Project for my dad who passed away 10 years ago and so anyone willing to donate to is cause please click on the link and thanks in advance for everyone's support!

Paris Fashion Week, Day 6

The Highlights

Last day of sun Paris was on good form for the Louis Vuitton show today and I sat out basking in it until the show began wearing a white shirt and loose trousers plus orange eye shadow

jacket by marques almeida, shirt by mr start, trousers by full circle, boots by maison martin margiela

Louis Vuitton is always held by The Louvre and today was the last show Marc Jacobs would design for them so the infamous set was everything he had done in the past seasons in one

French maids dusting the stair case on arrival, the carousel, train station, escalators, water fountain it was all there and this was his 'swan song' so each model was dressed with elaborate black ather headress and the collection was all black. Heavily beaded or feather pieces alongside jeans and the ultimate of biker jackets it was an amazing collection to leave on and sad that this was the last for Marc Jacobs but what a way to go out .....

The Zodiac jewellery at Valentino...Scorpio for moi

The Miu Miu wallpaper reflected the prints in the collection

Miu Miu was an array or sherbet colours

And there we have it the month has gone and I hope you have enjoyed all my highlights!

Back to normality until next season.....

Paris Fashion Week

Pink pink and more pink

Wear head to toe colour in shades and add a trainer to make this outfit less girly pink doesn't have to be so feminine

Shirt and trousers by Simone Rocha
Trainers by Nike

Paris Fashion Week, Day 5

The Highlights

For Chanel today I went pink in a head to toe kind of way but with my Nike trainers for comfort and to stop this being way to feminine the black toughens it up and the trainer gives this a more street feel
Trousers and shirt by Simone Rocha

Art and fashion seemed to be intertwined this season ideas and colour palettes are combined and inspire each other and Chanel gave us a whole exhibition of Chanel inspired pieces

When Chanel makes a rucksack you know it's the accessory of the moment

Today the star spot at Chanel was Katy Perry infront of the giant 2.5

Valentino does a great blue cotton shirt and their version of the pyjama look

Alexander Mcqeen held their show at a Horse Guards riding school and the collection was equestrian with a tribal spin

We finished the day with the new store launch of the collaboration of Sofia Coppola with Louis Vuitton

Paris Fashion Week, Day 4

The Highlights

Today's Natalie Hartley Runs comes to you from Paris via the Eiffel Tower. I don't seem to have enough time (or lung capacity) to run further than 45 mins but it's better than nothing! Fashion week has put me throug my paces of drinking and smoking and have gone back 10 steps so London is calling to up the game when I get back (getting nervous now!) but as for the Landmark runs this was great and I managed to see it early before everyone else did, again worth getting out of bed for!
