why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

Milan Fashion Week Day 5

The Highlights.....

Hurrah the sun is here and time to strike that pose!

Colour blocking with neutrals grey, black and white always keep shapes and silhouettes simple
Leather jacket by Acne
Grey funnel neck top by Maison Martin Margiela
White skirt by Jil Sander
Bag by Prada
Shoes by Celine

Marni became one of my Milan Fashion Week favourites with crazy textures and shapes and birds nest looking hair styles not for everyone but the overall look was just my thing

Dolce & Gabbana are always a highlight on the fashion week calender....always a. Themed show today was medieval inspired set in a snowy woodland and clothes featured embellished hoods and crystal thigh boots as well as woodland creatures embroidered on clothes my fav looks below

For those who don't know Agnona, stylish wardrobe staples and in particular a great place to find a good coat....

Checking out details today like these metal shoe laces on the Calvin Klein boots or sheepskin bags

The 'Gentlewoman' bag by Bally sits on it's angled side taking inspiration from the heels of gentlemen's shoes that have also got the inside heel shaved off to stop the trousers getting caught when putting them on

Another genius idea is the shoe bag bag
Bally

Corsa Como is the Dover Street Market of Milan stocking all the coolest and latest brands and they are so ahead of the game they even have the fresh off the catwalk Jeremy Scott for Moschino collection that was shown only 2 days ago! Bags were around the £600 who wants one?!

Milan Fashion week Day 4

The Highlights.....

More denim days .... Why not try and fray you denim wrap of the waist band and trim your hems for an instant update!
Blouse by Pringle
Jacket and jumper by Acne
Shoes by Celine
Sunglasses by Thierry Lasry

Me and my big head.....

The giant size Bottega Veneta dolls

Me and Jesus….

Simple with a twist of seventies Bottega Venta started the day off

The venue for the Roberto Cavalli show is always here and today the venue was a furnace of fire that left us all hot under our collar in more ways than one! Fab beaded pieces in pastel shades were some of my favourite looks

The ring of fire became the catwalk at Cavalli

Tod's are continuing to build on their luxury empire and the pastels shades below are variations of the softest leather you will ever feel! If you want to try wearing pastels opt for blue it's an easier colour to wear all round

Emporio Armani and their unlikely inspiration..... yes Parrell eat your heart out! Except these ones have pearls!

From posh boots....

Emporio Armani

Jimmy Choo

To posh trainers .....

Ralph Lauren does the high top

Even Jimmy Choo does a more slimline plimsole version in navy sure and pointy.....it's ticking all the trend boxes

Any finally we all love a bit of faux fur by Ralph Lauren!
The posh rucksack!

Jil Sander ends the day.....give me the lot thanks very much but these 2 looks will do to start!

Milan Fashion Week Day 3

The Highlights.....

Today I went for an all white look but added a grunge twist

Baggy wide leg trousers and an oversized mens top with the frayed edges gives a twist on 90's grunge

Denim top by Marques Almeida
Trousers Atea
Boots by Maison Martin Margiela

Fur hood by Fendi (of course!)

What a nice way to spend the morning today than taking a good old look at the Fendi collection hosted by my furry friend Mr. Lagerfeld himself.....

Who wouldn't want to glorify themselves as a toy and no cooler way than this!
Mini me's all round?!

Looking for the ultimate bag carrier or holder for you r small pets then these are a must buy next season at Fendi

Grey sheepskin ticks all the boxes but the stud details are so good!

Prada details of the coat I want!

Emporio Armani

Pharrell Williams may or may not be the inspiration behind the headwear but I love the masculine laid back feel of this collection rebound for tailoring this undone collection feels sporty and easy with strong wardrobe essentials

Trend spot white boots....

And cowboy boots are all over Italy....Western trend is back!
Gianvanito Rossi

Fendi

Sharp and pointy is the way to go next season....
Gianvanito Rossi

Casedei add glam to their DM inspired boots so whatever ones you want bling them up or keep it simple but start investing in them now!

Even if outdoor persuits are not your thing buy the footwear and you'll fit right in and what cooler footwear than these fur lined boots with studded soles for extra protection!

Today's look was a mix of texture and shades of black....
Denim top by Marques Almeida
Leather jacket by All Saints
Skirt by Jil Sander
Boots by Maison Martin Margiela
Bag by Fendi

Moschino have taken up the trend of a new designer/ creative director and brought in the fabulous Jeremy Scott who sent models down the catwalk referencing MacDonalds and Spongebob Square Pants
If red and yellow are not your colours maybe try the accessories!

We all got these crazy phone covers.... How many will you see on Instagram!

Chocolate bar invite comes to life in for of a dress fit for the oscars....if you are brave enough!

Fendi was the first show of the day and sent Cara delevigne down the runway carrying a miniature stuffed Karl Lagerfeld...he always funds fun in himself and fashion

In the navy... I love the sporty look but all navy keeps it cool and wearable

The show we have all been waiting for was Prada who caged us into a metal box and played us live classical music whilst e girls wander round in sheepskin coats that I want in every colour!

Lunch today was Pizza....carb overload in the middle of he day but what the hell it's Italy! Head to Paper Moon for amazing Italian cooking if you ever come to Milan

Maxmara is a staple brand that always delivers! They had. Great take on the puffs and layered them over coats and also went for the moss green effect but a gold cowboy boot finished every look and I think I want a pair too!
