why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

Paris Fashion Week Day 6

The Highlights.....

Masculine tailoring is becoming stronger and my best advice is by a mans suit in a small size I have gone for a shorter length trouser so that it sits better with a boot and have styled with a simple jumper keeping the colour palette neutral with a touch of gold
Suit by Banana Republic
Jumper by Uniqlo
Boots by Balenciaga
Today we saw on elf my favourite jewellery designers Eddie Borgo
Inspired by blue and the blue city in Marrakesh delving deeper he realised the the blue city was a big inspiration to the interior designer Bill Willis who designed for Yves Saint Laurent and the Rolling Stones and if you are into Morrocan interiors start researching his stuff now!

Eddie's mood board

Tassels are a big part of the collection using all hand dyed fabrics

The more you stack the better it looks

Stella McCartney works knits into her collection and added a chunky white soled brogue to everything

A new label to know it's not new but start investing and this season she showcased amazing sheepskins, puffa details and silk prints, it was a huge hit and the coats are on my winter wish list!

Kenzo and their portable kitchen

The slogan back inspired by David Lynch and his films

Two of my favourite models and their show cards with what looks they are wearing for the Kenzo show

Entering the world of Charlotte Olympia #shanghai #fourties

Lots of kooky Chinese animal references

Balenciaga and tiles

Balenciaga and the branch

Jerome Dreyfuss and the cigarette box bag ( sounds like my kind of bag)

Such a great show and such great prints at Dries van Noten

The shoes at Rochas had a perfect balance of boy meets girl

And more of these shoe bag bags at Rochas too (more trend spotting!)

The hot ticket for Paris tonight was Saint Laurent with Article Monkeys sat front row in red leather trousers sipping Laurent Perrier out of the bottle

Boy meets girl at the Saint Laurent show it reminded me of a 60's spin off of Puss in Boots but here are great ways to wear a white shot next season plus get those knee high boots back too!

Tweed and glitter mixed well at Saint Laurent

Take your luck the boots are back in town (in a big way!)

Paris Fashion Week Day 5

The Highlights.....

The sun is finally out big whoops all round is this the start of spring? Let's put on the open toes and hope (although I spoke to soon and had to add socks to this look later)

Faded jeans look great with black tones and add a chunky sandal with a pastel toe and for all those who love something oversized then later with a polo neck for a minimalist touch
Jacket by All Saints
Denim top by Marques Alemeida
Rollneck by Uniqlo
Jeans by Topshop
Shoes by Marni
Sunglasses by Thierry Lasry

Sophia Webster says it as it is

The most anticipate show did not let us down another great collection by Phoebe Philo for Celine with great knits with a grunge twist and anothe set of chunky footwear

Style tip ..... Phoebe likes to make he shoes chunky as it gives the appearance of a slimmer leg

Next stop Claire Wright Keller for Chloe who also gave us an effortless collection in particular I loved the leather puffas (do we think this might be a trend yet?!)

If you come to Paris he on eying you must eat is the bread and butter so bad but so good!

"Excuse me I can't see a bloody thing" poor bloody dog stuffed in a handbag next to me

The final show of the day Givenchy with more beautiful tailoring (it has also become my favourite trend for the new season), I also love these strong block colours strips that gives everything and edge

Paris Fashion Week Day 4

The Highlights.....

Denim Days

Old faded jeans are a great canvas for most things but as the mood of A/W 14 seems to be all about grey I thought I would layer up with tones of and recreate what I have seen. When playing with shades of colour I like to wear simple strong shapes like this funnel neck top

Coat by Joseph
Top and boots by Margiela
Jeans by Levi's
Bag by Prada

Proenza Schouler accessories

If you are all about black and white hen this must be yours!

And then add some pink heels to the list great with jeans or even a tailored suit and style with a sock to be really on trend!

AF Vandervorst
Trend spot.....Thigh boots ae everywhere this season in Paris

The giant puffa at Junya Watanabe....surely the best way to stay warm! #duvet

Top 3 looks at Acne today (especially loving the knits)

Rodger Vivier has been inspired by Bob Dylan in the Casbah this season and animal print is having another moment

Tailoring and knits are this seasons biggest trends but this is the avant garde version at Commes de Garçons

The tickets for the Nicolas Ghesquiere for Louis Vuitton show arrived today in a perfect leather envelope (good for future use) stylish and very excited to see what he will be doing there for his first season!

As the shows do I will end with the bride (final look at Vivienne Westwood)
