why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

Milan Fashion Week.....

TIP...a printed trouser suit is a perfect way to wear a print trend wear with a t-shirt for a laid back look or clash your prints with a crazy shirt and have worn my favourite shoes of the season in orange to give the outfit a extra colour (plus look out for metal toes again seen at marni today)

The Brits.....

TIP...going to the Brit awards on Tuesday night I opted for a long dress with heavy boots so that I look half way between dressed up and dressed down the metallic heels make the boots appear dressier and the heavy metal necklace completes the monochrome look! the bag is a wash bag that I double up as a good evening bag

London Fashion Week Day 5.....

TIP...today I have opted for an all red look layering a jumper over a sheer dress but have toughened it all up with a long leather coat (leather is a big deal again next winter) and added my rock boots and again working in a new accessory means the look is relevant for now!

Neon.....

The coolest way to wear neon this summer is to mix it all up wearing shades of the same colour way.....

TIP...I love this cotton shirt its perfect with a pair of jeans or even as a great cover up on the beach...I have added a silk jacket to give a vintage feel to the outfit

Diesel Denim, part 2.....

This is the last 2 pairs of jeans available in the new Diesel 'Fit Your Attitude' collection launching now nationwide. (See last blog post for more details)

HIGHKEE (0886Z)...

I love these high waisted jeans that are slightly cropped at the ankle so have worn a cropped floral jacket to show this off and thrown a fur coat over the top for a retro glam finish

Diesel Denim.....

Diesel have been developing and researching their best jeans yet under the umbrella name 'Fit Your Attitude'. They have designed 6 pairs of jeans (myguy, grupee, highkee, bootzee, flairlegg and getlegg) that are going to become their only 6 styles that they will sell in any shop nationwide from now on. Each have been meticulously designed to make sure that everyone will find their favourite style/ styles and then over the seasons they will launch alternative colour palettes. Basically once you find what you love all you need to do is keeping adding to the colours! The attention to detail is very noticeable too even down to the leather tabs on the back where the diamonte embellishments have been replaced with stylish neutral coloured leather. Its all very chic and wearable without a huge price tag. I have been lucky enough to road test all six styles and I have definitely found my favourite and will certainly will be buying the newest colour way each season.

See how I have styled each pair today and the next installment on Wednesday 8th February...go and find your perfect pair too...!

MYGUY (wash 088P)...

The pyjama trend is everywhere but if you are not into an all over look take the blouse and match it with boyfriend jeans and simple stiletto's

FLAIRLEGG (wash 0886L)...

I have been waiting for the perfect wide leg jean with a rock n roll edge I love the frayed edge and have worn this look with a structured shirt for an alternative to the boho look why not try yellow to brighten the outfit

BOOTZEE (wash 885L)...

I have balanced these straight leg jeans with flats and given the look a fifties twist with a cropped jacket over a printed blouse which is tucked in to show off the higher waistband

blouse by minkpink http://www.asos.com

GETLEGG (884X)...

If I were to have one of the six pairs these would be the ones! I have found jeans that are the perfect balance between skinny and boyfriend. They are great mainly with heels but have worn them with my high tops just make sure they are not too loose on you as this will look unsexy. The wash is perfect as they feel like I have had them for years so complement most types of clothing. I think the pastel trend works really well with this wash and have teamed the look with suede pastel heels picking out a colour from the jacket
