why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

Blue.....

Blue has become the shade where everything goes from denim to pastels to navy its one of my favourite tones and this week while the weather still hangs on I wanted to wear the lighter shade of blue and give someone a push in the right direction as you can WIN a blue shirt to add to things in your wardrobe by the shirt king's Equipment.  Just retweet the blog or leave a comment below or on my twitter feed @nataliehartley or Instagram @nataliehartleywears to enter!  Deadline is Saturday 6th September...good luck!

TIP...mens loose cotton boxer shorts are a great shape and perfect alternative to a traditional style and adding this oversized shirts in similar tones gives a slightly boyish twist to a pretty pastel

TIP...a bold ultra blue works really well against the pastel back drop try a cute mini size for day you really don't need all that stuff in your bag do you?

TIP...total opposites but in shoes of blues these are two perfect ways to wear with an outfit like this or even just add either pair to jeans and your blue shirt

This shirt is what you can win this week!

And why not finish the look with this cool stainless steel bangle by the jewellery name to know Maria Black

TK Maxx...the holiday wardrobe

This week I am giving you a chance to WIN £200 to spend in TK Maxx for your own summer holiday!  This is what I found with the same spending money (plus a few more pieces that include suncreams and beauty products at great prices that I haven't shown here) as I wanted to show you that you can get really great well made pieces (including designer finds in their Gold Label section that is as good as buying brand new just much better value.  If this sounds like a shopping spree for you then to enter simply leave a comment below or on my Instagram @nataliehartleywears and the winner will be announced on Saturday 9th August...good luck!

My holiday packing tip is to stick to a neutral palette is makes it easier to pack and mix your clothes to make up different outfits my new colour obsession is Caramel and the tones within so this summer I have opted for black and beige

TIP...travelling in a good oversized jumper keeps you warm on the plane too but throw it over a loose dress and you can strip off easily the other side and instantly get into the holiday mood!

TIP... adding a black shoe to beige makes the colour palette edgier

TIP...easy dressing is a shirt dress for me I love a collarless dress and the oversized shape keeps you cool in hot weather but look for a shorter length to stop the shape becoming to bulky for holiday

TIP... I always bring a loose pair of jeans and I love the rips in them which again when you are away means you can cover up but stay cool in the evening pairing them with a minimal japanese inspired top in a beige tone is fresh and light for summer dressing

TIP... for me the ultimate cover up for the beach is a loose black shirt sexier worn with nothing else but swimwear it looks great done up as if a dress or open to act as a kaftan just make sure its oversized for the most effective and stylish way to wear a shirt on the beach
