why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

Hems.....

Its all in a hem...
these are two ways to wear your trousers this winter the standard roll or the seventies turn up, either way you choose its all about small details to give your outfit an individual touch.  This week you can make a start yourself and WIN the J Brand jeans and wearing in the second outfit just leave a comment below or on my Instagram @nataliehartleywears or Twitter @nataliehartley
deadline Saturday 1 November...good luck!

TIP... roll up the hems of loose skinny leg trousers for a more bohemian vibe and it looks great worn with ankle boots and allows you to show them off so try something bold like a strong colour or shape

TIP...the seventies turn up works best on a straight leg trouser and ideally jeans like this are great as the tonal underneath gives a good hem contrast

The Flare.....

The Flare is back or at least the trouser leg is getting wider for those who don't want to digress too far back!  This week am giving a reader the chance to WIN a pair of these grey velvet flares  that I am wearing below just leave a comment below or on my Instagram or Twitter to enter...deadline is Saturday 25th October, good luck!

TIP... add a military style cropped jacket to these high waisted flares and wear with a loose white t-shirt and remember flares always look more flattering with a heel for those nervous to wear them

TIP... this look ticks two more trend boxes; head to toe grey and the seventies but this is your way to wear the flare for day add a hoodie but get your name on the back this is the latest way in customising  and 'say my name' is the perfect seventies spin on modern day clothing (see link below to get your done on one of their newest designs)

Think Pink.....

This weekend I was reflecting on the shows and inspired by the Moschino show and Barbie pink, its a colour I don't normally wear but seeing so much of the seventies around I wanted to show you how I would wear pink inspired by that decade and having seen a lot of towelling fabrics this crop top seemed the perfect match to the Barbie mired phone cover from the Moschino show...and that brings me on to this weeks prize to WIN the much infamous phone cover!  Just leave a comment here or on my Instagram @nataliehartleywears or retweet my blog through twitter @nataliehartley to enter, deadline is Saturday 18th October...good luck!

TIP...this is the way I would wear pink, colour block it, adding it to burgundy and denim which are both favourable colours for this winter and ones that will continue to next spring I am wearing a crop top in towelling fabric that gives a nice texture to work against denim (plus it's very seventies too a trend that is going to hit us very soon if not already since the recent shows)
