why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

The New Nautical.....

With all the rain this week the blog has gone nautical and in hope that the sun will come out you also have a chance to win the religion sunglasses in the last shot!  all you have to do is leave me a comment, tweet me @nataliehartley or facebook me with the outfit that you love the best and I will pick someone at random on wednesday 2nd may to win them. once you have them send me a pick of how you wear them and will tweet and/ or post up on the blog...

TIP...if you like sticking with the traditional natutical colours why not try adding spots to clash with the stripes for a more up to date look and the trainers in white with red trim are the perfect finish

TIP...this is a great look for work and culottes are a great nod to nautical but in beige is not so literal I have styled with a denim shirt buttoned up to the collar and the neck tie finishes the outfit try it in spots or stripes to add a print

TIP...mix up the widths of your stripes stick to the same colour throughout and  have added another nautical colour through the shoes I have gone for a masculine twist with a pair of brogues

  3. I love the last outfit! The stripe on stripe action & colour pop of the red shoes is way more style savvy than anchor motifs we are used to seeing from the 'Nautical' trend! Bravo :)

  4. God, those shoes are way over the top - but in a positive sense, totally extreme, they fit this over-explicit apparel. I love it!
