It's definitely time to invest in a good coat and this winter there is plenty of choice you don't have to stick to a black classic! But this week you you WIN the coat from the second outfit just leave a comment or tweet me @nataliehartley how you would wear it and I will pick my favourite answer to win! the coat! Closing date is this Friday 19th October...good luck!
TIP...inspired by jil sander pale pink has been a big inspiration over the high street, it transforms a simple coat bringing this loose classic style into the 21st century. I have worn it with loose trousers and a t-shirt but add a white shoe to make the outfit more modern just make sure this coat style is oversized it can not be fitted

t-shirt by rodarte for browns

TIP...another pastel coat option but the coolest way to wear a coat this season is with bare legs add a statement boot and a slouchy socks

ReplyDeleteHi Natalie! I would wear that mint green beauty with candyfloss hues. I'd offset the mint colour with a pale pink mohair sweater layered over a crisp white shirt, plus raw-hem white skinny jeans and a pair of Marant's Bobby sneakers in cream and white. Plus candyfloss/beehive hair and some lilac-framed sunglasses. x
ReplyDeleteHi Natalie

Natalie x
also what is your address?!
DeleteYay thank you SO much! My Twitter name is @natalie_hughes - will you follow me on Twitter so I can private message you my address? Thanks again, so thrilled! x
DeleteThat coat is amazing! I would play on the boucle texture by wearing it with a crisp white blouse and a full houndstooth printed skater skirt. I'd add frilled ankle socks and masculine brogues for a look that has just the right amount of edge. it's fab I love how you've styled it xo amie x
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm feeling the winter approaching, blustery winds and cold mornings. So I'd want to wear this beautiful coat with a pair of oxblood leather trousers , a pair of shoes the same shade, the kind that's like a Chelsea boot but with a heel ( seen them in topshop, office, garage) it'd be a leg lengthener, and a bit of colour blocking going on. As for the top half .... An Icelandic knit with cream and ice blue shades. And to finish the look off a rosé gold collar neclace . ( iv got fushia pink hair so have to make the outfit work with it too, )
ReplyDeleteThankyou , Nikita
I agree bare legs is best so in keeping with the 60s feel I would put this coat with a check wool skirt in a modernised kilt style and black knee high leather boots (Zara's version of Givenchy's shaft boot ideally). An oversized fisherman's knit in light grey or cream would balance the bare leg and keep the outfit casual, while the monochrome colours emphasise the coat's eye catching pastel hue.
ReplyDeleteHello Natalie! Lovely outfits today, I'm really happy to have found your blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous coat! I think I'd team it with a simple white peter-pan collared shirt tucked into some faded slim-fit ripped jeans turned up at the bottom OR dark blue, baroque patterned trousers hitting the ankle to show off a suede nude platform heel.
I'm always too embarrassed of my legs to wear them bare - tights or trousers for me!
Seriously loving those boots in the last outfit. Gutted they're out of stock, but that's probably a good thing as I can't afford to be splashing out on anything right now! :P
Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity!
- Alex ♥
Hi Natalie,
ReplyDeleteI will wear a white collared top and place the collar on top of the coat.Because the coat is so pastel and sweet-looking, I would probably wear it with something grungy-looking, like leather or dark denim bottoms. I would also pair a belt outside the coat because I generally like my waist defined.
But I love how you styled it!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Hi Natalie,
ReplyDeleteI love your posts!! They have a lot of energy compared to a lot of blogs which post a lot of the same type of pictures.
I'd love to win your giveaway! I'd want to give it a french spin... I'd wear it with a pretty crisp white sharp collar shirt with an extravagant necklace, some tailored pants with a bit of a shorter leg, maybe in a design that has some of the minty colour, or a brocade/metallic fabric that i think could really set off the fluffy texture of the coat, and of course, a good heel with a sharp toe, to add a bit of an edge and stop it all becoming too girly. I also love the way the french nonchalantly wear their coats over their shoulders, maybe I'd give that a go too!
And at the weekend I'd wear it with some cropped loose fit denims, some cool high top sneakers and a mohair sweater...
X Hayley
Oh, to paraphrase Hall & Oates, that mint coat makes my dreams come true. I'd team that beauty with some soft grey jeans from Whistles, Folk wedge boots and the white Antipodium x Goodhood lace back tee. Some silver Maria Francesca Pepe bling, Essie lilac nails and a NARS Schiap lip.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Emma
Hi Natalie,
ReplyDeleteFirstly can I just say I love your blog. I'm not ashamed to admit I have a massive fashion girl crush on you!
The coat is gorgeous. It's similar to a vintage angora cardigan/coat I have, but I'm allergic so unfortunately I can't wear it. A bright red rash is not a good look.
I would wear it with the Current/Elliot Stretch-Leather Pants which I lust after daily & a simple Alexander Wang White Tee.
Finishing off with either killer Blue heels or boots to highlight the blue of the coat. Such as the Versace Metal trimmed leather mid-calf Boots.
Grungy Glam.
Thanks so much,
Jo-Hannah
hey Natalie
ReplyDeleteI would wear the coat over a long sleeved black dress that arrives mid thigh and these lingerie black mat shorts with the lace at the edges at the middle of the thigh to give a rocknroll edge
i would wear my yellow with black rim round sunglasses
for the shoes i would wear my slightly heeled black leather boots or even my old cool looking nike runners to keep it nonchalant.
no makeup maybe some nice silver or gold rings or long simple necklaces to keep the emphasis on the coat itself.
thanks so much, by the way now I live in Barcelona!
thanks to everyone who entered the competition to win the coat from the blog! the winner is Natalie Hughes as I loved her use of soft colour blocking with it great colourful winter dressing!
