why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

New Season S/S '13.....

This week I am going to be showing you ways of starting to invest in the new season and you also have a chance to win the gold brogues from my final look!  Just tell me how you would wear them and leave a comment below or tweet me @nataliehartley.... deadline is Saturday 13th January...good luck!

TIP...oversized ruffles and frills its all about strong shapes for summer and this dress inspired by balenciaga is a perfect example of this trend I love dressing it down with a pair of cowboy boots but whatever your footwear do it in monochrome

TIP... it's a 90's revival this summer seen at dries van noten and henry holland but why not try wearing it with pastels for a modern update tie dye and embellishment give this a more girly twist but beeny hats are the perfect grunge twist to the outfit and these sandals are a great key style to carry you through the summer

TIP... oversized shapes are key I love this giant short sleeve sweater and have balanced the shape with a pencil skirt keep things skinny on the bottom half if the top is oversized or vice versa, the metallic accessories add a statement and metallics are not just for night this season but should be integrated into your outfit for day

  2. Is the bag current season? I love it! Also I would pair the brogues with a monochrome look of white jeans and an oversized black knitted jumper. I would then add a statement gold collar necklace to draw some attention to the metallics.

  3. Oh I want the bag! I hate having no H&M here in Australia :/
I'd wear the shoes with a double denim look or denim dress, I think the neutral tone lets the shoes shine. A bit like many of the denim looks we saw in resort 2013 at chanel, phillip lim and balmain etc.

  6. Hi Natalie, I'm a big fan of the blog and tweeted yesterday saying I had trouble commenting on it - then I thought I'd try from home to see whether it might be a glitch with our work computers. I mentioned also that I'd style the gold shoes with an eighties style denim jacket, a red and white sailor dress and ankle socks. I love the blog - it's really great to see someone who is a high profile writer committing to a personal blog and always engaging and being so lovely! Thanks, Gemma
